Color: Blue Speckled W/ Black, Blue Or Tan Markings On Head; And Red Speckled With Darker Red Markings On Head.
  
Description: There is more to the Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) than herding cattle. This is a very versatile, agile, and friendly dog. It is an extremely hard worker, very intelligent, courageous and although it may not look the part, a tough little dog! It originated in Australia where Thomas Hall bred a Highland Collie (Welsh Heeler) with the native Australian dingo. His cross produced the cattle dog that so many others before him had tried to invent. Years later, another breed was thrown into the mix. The Dalmatian gave the cattle dog the temperament it needed in order to be around horses and it also contributed the unique “ticking” in its coat.

Above all else, the cattle dog is a working dog. It must possess working ability, be agile, courageous, happy, and intelligent and it must always be prepared to defend its master.
  
Appearance: Head: Medium size, with rounded skull. Eyes: Medium sized and oval shape. Ears: Broad at the base, set wide apart on the head and of medium size. Muzzle: Medium and tapering to a point. Nose: Black and self colored according to coat. Bite: Scissor or level. Neck: Medium length and extremely strong. Chest: Deep and muscular, with well-sprung ribs. Body: Level back that slopes at rump. Legs: Forelegs should be perfectly straight when viewed from the front. Hind legs are broad, strong, muscular and straight from the hocks to the feet when viewed from the back. Feet: Round with short toes. Tail: Medium length with a slight curve. Movement: Swift and very agile, with flowing gait. Temperament: High-spirited, yet very lovable.
